GARY W. WIER, P.L.S.
Gary was born in Tucson,
Arizona in 1964. He spent his teenage
years in Payson, Arizona, graduating from high school in 1982. Immediately after graduation Gary joined the
Army. Following basic training in Missouri
he was stationed with the 46th Engineers at Ft. Rucker AL., with a
tour in Honduras C.A., building airstrips on the Nicaraguan border. He was subsequently stationed with the 11th
Armored Calvary on the E-W German Border until 1986, when he was honorably
discharged.
Gary has surveyed in Arizona,
Nevada, Idaho and Utah. In 1995, Gary
transferred with Hubble Engineering from Boise, Idaho to Lehi, Utah to manage a
new office.
Gary managed the survey
department at Hubble Engineering for nearly 10 years and saw it grow from one
to more than 15 surveyors, at which point the company decided to pull out of
the Utah market. It was an unexpected
opportunity, as the firm had many large contracts in place and a large group of
experienced and licensed surveyors on staff. In 2003 he seized the opportunity, formed a
partnership and created Apex Land Surveyors, Incorporated. Never breaking stride, the new firm and its existing
employees continued on with the existing projects, such as the Deer Creek Bridge
and road construction of US-89, and the Point Of The Mountain Aqueduct, a
6-mile, 60 inch water pipeline.
Although currently a much
smaller firm, by incorporating the latest technologies we are able to outperform
many of the larger firms.
